My trip up Island with the new fam was rad. I don't even know where to start!
Even though it was a great trip, I have to say that the driving was hell. First of all it was hot, hot, hot. I'm talking about 40 degrees in that damn bloody van... add to that a newborn baby, a needy two year old, and two hot and tired parents. Yikes! Not to mention my cramped quarters (see photo).
We hiked in to San Josef Bay at Cape Scott. It's funny that these people think that a slow 2.6 km hike is exercise for me. I mean c'mon you guys - I'm a Blue Healer. No matter. I got to run around on the beach to burn off the extra steam. Highlights for me from this part of the trip included: Visiting other people in their campsites (don't know why Trevor yelled at me), flinging sand in the new baby's face with a stick (really don't know why Trevor yelled at me), ripping apart Luke's ball and making him cry (give me a break, Trevor) and stealing - and eating - chicken bones from our neigbour campers (F- you, Trevor).
After Cape Scott, we headed to Nimpkish Lake. It was sunny windy and wonderful. I spent ALL day EVERY day fetching sticks in the lake. When the family didn't throw sticks for me, I just barked until they started again. There was a big space of open field for me to run around (and around and around and around) on. There were even different kid's balls and toys all over the lawn. I figured that they were fair game, so I had a lot of fun playing. All of the kids got to know my name.
Trevor even gave me a new nickname: Menace. I don't know what it means, but it sure sounds pretty and I really like it. It's so weird... sometimes I get deja vu... Once in a while, Trevor just grabs me and flips me over, just like my dad does, and yells big incoherent words that I don't understand, just like my dad does. This doesn't make sense to me, but now I can see why they are such good friends.

Hi friends and family. Welcome to my new blog.
Speaking of hottie, the weather here is insane. I just can't seem to stop panting and drooling all over the floor. We have been hitting the beach to beat the heat, and I have been having a good time barking at strangers, shaking on little kids, running across people's towels with my sandy feet, and peeing on the beach.
Highlights for me so far have been running up the mountain with Nicole (Naish was a sissy and got too hot), running with Trevor last night (again, Naish was a sissy and ran home on his own because he was too hot), and running around Trevor's parent's yard with my new BFF Ladybug (a crazy little cocker spaniel half breed).
We are busy packing up today for a camping trip to San Josef Bay at Cape Scott. I overheard Nicole telling Trevor in a really loud voice how THRILLED she is to be sharing a hot tent with a two year old, a newborn and two wet dogs. That made me feel really good, and I am looking forward to the trip. I will be sure to get lots of pictures and update my blog as soon as I can get to a computer.
